Singapore, a highly developed and visitor friendly country with lots of parks, gardens and impressive attractions is one of the coolest spots in Asia. I visited Singaore a total of three times.

Get on top of the spectacular Marina Bay Sands for nice views of the city and of the impressive Port of Singapore (don't leave without trying your hand at a game of roulette at the Marina Bay Sands Casino). Also check out the fabulous Gardens by the Bay (don't miss the light show), Flower Dome and Cloud Forest while in the area.

Next, head over to Little India, China Town, Arab Street and Kampong Glam for shopping, experiencing Asian cultures and enjoying excellent food. In Chinatown you can visit the splendid Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (the chanting by the monks is out of this world if you get to see it), while in nearby Little India the Sri Mariamman Temple should be on your list. Sultan Mosque in Kampong Glam is very nice as well.

For entertainment don't miss Haji Lane with its nice little shops, cafes and restaurants, Clarke Quay, or the very nice Chijmes. Singapore, just like the rest of SouthEast Asia, has delicious milk tea, milk coffee, milk tea and coffee, and bubble tea in countless delicious combinations.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities in Singapore if that's what you're looking for, including the famous Orchard Road and the Bugis Street market. The holiday island of Sentosa with its beaches, parks, shows and loads of attractions is another must-see. While on Sentosa don't miss Fort Siloso, the butterfly garden and the giant Merlion, Singapore's national symbol.

Other very nice attractions are the Botanic Gardens (with its spectacular Orchid Garden) and Singapore Zoo, each counting as some of the finest in the world.

One of the coolest things to do in Singapore is the Southern Ridges Walk, a beautiful walk through some of Singapore's parks: follow the sign to the Marang trail from Exit D of MRT station Harbourfront, and then signs to Faber Walk, Henderson Waves, Hilltop Walk, Forest Walk, Alexandra Arch, Floral Walk and Canopy Walk; continue through Kent Ridge Park and find your way to Kent Ridge MRT station to get back to the city.

The food is excellent in Singapore and the MRT metro network makes most of the city's sights and attractions easily accessible.
