Watching the breathtaking total solar eclipse in Valladolid

I traveled to the city of Valldolid in Spain to watch the 12 August 2026 total solar eclipse – a breathtaking experience that’s hard to put into the words. It’s easy to forget that extraordinary things happen all the time in the world, and they can be experienced and seen with some effort. A total solar eclipse is one of them, and is also one of the most spectacular astronomical events.

Seeing the total phase of the eclipse with your own eyes is absolutely fantastic. After months of preparation, tests and research, I was also able to get some good photographs of the eclipse and its various phases and features – pictures added to the updated Spain album.
