More European microstates: Luxembourg and Liechtenstein

Continued my quest to see all European microstates with brief visits to Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.

Luxembourg is larger than other microstates and feels like Switzerland or Belgium at times. But the capital of Luxembourg City has a distinct personality and a beautiful old town that’s like a magnet for the camera. Then there are the very interesting Bock Casemates – 17km of tunnels dug into rock, and some excellent food. Pictures in the new Luxembourg album:

Liechtenstein was next – Europe’s fourth smallest country but one of the nicest. The capital of Vaduz provides lots of tasteful urban sculptures and a nice hike to the Prince’s Castle. There are fabulous views of mountains all around the country – I’ve visited the little gem of Malbun (elevation: 1,600, population: 50). Details in the new Liechtenstein album:
