If you're looking for cheap, nice and unpretentious beach holidays, Bulgaria might just be the place to go. I visited the seaside resorts of Albena and Golden Sands, located in the Northwestern part of the country, for a brief but relaxing trip. Other attractions in the area include the pretty botanical gardens in Balchick and the scenic Cape Kaliakra. A stop at the Dalboka Mussel Farm might also be worth your while. I also stayed at the Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort, and visited the Thracian Cliffs and Blacksearama resorts - all three were beautiful and I was positively impressed.

Bansko is a nice resort in the mountains, check it out if you're into skiing.
