Dobruja, Romania

Dobruja (or Dobrogea) is a beautiful region of Romania with postcard landscapes of rolling hills and sunflower fields, rich history and intriguing ruins, excellent fish dishes, the beautiful Danube Delta and Romania's seaside resorts.

The Danube Delta nature reserve, the second largest river delta in Europe and the best preserved on the continent, is one of Europe's hidden natural wonders (and one of the recommended sites to see when visiting Romania). A boat trip on some of the region's many lakes to admire the beautiful display of pelicans and countless other birds is a must-do.

Rasova Winery and its Aer Glamping are nice and offer cool views of the Cernavoda Bridge. Enisala Fortress and the nearby Enisala Safari Village, located in a scenic area, are also very nice. There's lots of wildlife in and around Razim lake, the largest lake in Romania, including wild horses.
