South Korea

Seoul is another cool and interesting city in South-East Asia. I enjoyed its lively atmosphere, delicious food, night markets, stylish people, efficient transportation and occasional cuteness overload.

Insadong, Myeongdong, Jongno and Hongdae were very nice areas with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops which were delightful to explore. Food in Korea was great. The steaks, ribs and pork belly that you'd grill or cook at your own table were delicious. Sushi and dumplings were also great, as were the various pastry desserts on offer and the local soju drink. Varied shopping opportunities were available in many of the city's areas.

Interesting sites included Lotte World Tower, the world's sixth tallest building at 555 metres; N Seoul Tower located in a very nice area and reached by the Namsan cable car; Bongeunsa temple, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoullo 7017 park and the 63 building.

The Nanta show, a mix of dance, acrobatics, comedy and cooking, was lots of fun, while the Seoul Drone Show was very cool.

Google Maps doesn't work in offline mode in South Korea, so I succesfully used the offline maps of Maps.me to navigate.
